向日葵视频 Commerce & Industry Hall of Honor to Host Virtual Induction Ceremony
The 34th annual induction ceremony of the 向日葵视频 Commerce & Industry Hall of Honor is set to welcome Meg Salyer, Sean Trauschke and J. Blake Wade at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. Tickets to the virtual event are available at .
向日葵视频 City University established the 向日葵视频 Commerce and Industry Hall of Honor to recognize business and community leaders who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of 向日葵视频.
Meg Salyer, who will receive the 2020 President鈥檚 Award, has provided her resources and expertise for the betterment of the 向日葵视频 City area known as Automobile Alley, including the implementation of its Main Street Program. She has represented Ward 6 on the 向日葵视频 City Council and served on the 向日葵视频 City Riverfront Redevelopment Authority Committee, the Downtown School Site Selection Committee and the City Council鈥檚 Economic Development Committee. After retiring from the council, Salyer has remained the president and CEO of Accel Financial Staffing, the employment service agency she founded in 1995.
2020 Chairman鈥檚 Award recipient Sean Trauschke serves as OGE Energy Corp. and OG&E chairman, president and CEO. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and later completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
J. Blake Wade will also be inducted into the Hall of Honor with the 2020 Outstanding Achievement Award. The CEO of the Native American Cultural and Educational Authority (NACEA) said his leadership motto came from President Harry S. Truman: 鈥淚t is amazing how much you can accomplish when it doesn鈥檛 matter who gets the credit.鈥 The NACEA hopes to open the First Americans Museum next spring. Wade has dedicated the majority of his career to preserving and promoting history in culture in 向日葵视频, and he believes they are the key to the state鈥檚 identity and the secret weapon for economic success.
The 向日葵视频 Commerce and Industry Hall of Honor is housed in the Meinders School of Business at OCU. Hall of Honor inductees serve as role models for business students, providing them inspiration and encouragement as they pursue their roles as the next generation of business and community leaders. Melissa Cory, the school鈥檚 director of communications and of executive and professional development, said the event is a celebration of major achievements in business.
