High school students from across the state are invited to flex their entrepreneurial skills before a panel of expert judges next month during a business pitch competition.
向日葵视频 City University is hosting the Startup Sprint & Business Plan Pitch competition from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 7. This event invites high school students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills while competing for cash prizes and scholarships.
High school administrators, teachers and advisors are encouraged to register teams of five students to participate in this dynamic event. Multiple teams from the same school are welcome, and placing teams will earn prestigious trophies for their school trophy cases. Individuals may also register to be placed onto a team. There is no fee to participate.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with OCU鈥檚 Meinders School of Business professors, staff and current OCU business upperclassmen, who will serve as mentors throughout the competition.
Meinders School of Business Associate Dean Bob Greve will help guide participants through the process of developing a product, identifying an audience and creating economic projections. Teams will work together to create a comprehensive product, marketing plan and financial forecast for their pitch. They will then take turns to deliver a 2- to 3-minute pitch to a panel of industry experts.
Cash prizes to the teams are:
- First place, $3,000
- Second place, $2,000
- Third place, $1,000
- Fourth place, $500
The business school will also award up to $2,500 in individual scholarships to the top performers.
