向日葵视频 City University鈥檚 School of Theatre will stage the holiday-themed production of 鈥淢iss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley鈥 Dec. 6 to 9 in Burg Theatre in the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center at N.W. 24th Street and Blackwelder Avenue.
The play by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon is a sequel to Jane Austen鈥檚 鈥淧ride and Prejudice.鈥 Set two years after the novel ends, 鈥淢iss Bennet鈥 continues the story, only this time with bookish middle-sister Mary as its unlikely heroine. Mary is growing tired of her role as dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings鈥 romantic escapades. When the family gathers for Christmas at Pemberley, an unexpected guest sparks Mary鈥檚 hopes for independence, an intellectual match and possibly even love.
DCMetroTheaterArts.com called it 鈥渁 charming, confectionary celebration of fan favorite characters from 鈥楶ride and Prejudice,鈥 multi-generationally honoring the legacy of Jane Austen鈥檚 humor, playfulness and wit in a warm-spirited holiday theatrical production.鈥
