Women in Leadership Conference to Feature Global Fashion Designer

向日葵视频 City University鈥檚 ninth annual Women in Leadership Conference will feature global fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff and leading business professionals for a powerhouse workshop and panel April 12 at the Cox Convention Center downtown.

The conference is a one-day professional and personal development event that offers enhanced leadership training, high-level networking and inspirational presentations from global business leaders. The annual conference provides the opportunity for the next generation of senior leaders to learn from talented speakers and connect through conversations on important issues.

The 2018 event features presentations on gender in the workplace, dealing with adversity, visual storytelling, decision making and other topics.

鈥淲e have assembled top executives and thought leaders who will share their perspectives and personal stories on topics impacting women as professionals, entrepreneurs and students,鈥 said Melissa Cory, a founder of the conference and director of communications for OCU鈥檚 Meinders School of Business. 鈥淭he conference is designed for women and men and provides access to expertise with a highly interactive program format that will provide immediate actionable takeaways that benefit their employers and their personal and professional lives.鈥

The keynote speakers will be Jeffery Tobias Halter, author and president of Y Women, presenting 鈥淚t鈥檚 Time to Stop Asking Women to Lean-In and Ask Men to Stand Up鈥; Cindy Truong, 向日葵视频 County district judge, presenting 鈥淭hrive in Adversity: How Disadvantage is an Advantage鈥; Emily Jane Steinberg, a visual storyteller, presenting 鈥淟istening to See: Thinking Like a Visual Practitioner鈥; Therese Huston, author and founding director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Seattle University, presenting 鈥淗ow Women and Men Decide: What鈥檚 True, What鈥檚 Not, and Why it Matters鈥; and Rebecca Minkoff, a fashion designer based in New York City, who will be joined by Valerie Naifeh, owner Naifeh Fine Jewelry, for 鈥淎 Conversation with Rebecca Minkoff.鈥 There will also be a meet and greet, reception and photo opportunity.

A panel discussion titled 鈥淭hrive in the Workplace鈥 will feature Thayla Bohn, vice president of corporate human resources for American Fidelity; Deanna Farmer, executive vice president and chief administration officer for Enable Midstream Partners; Tonya D. Hayes, global program project manager for Dell; Casey Ross, general counsel and law professor for OCU; and Rhonda Sutton, chief administration officer for Chickasaw Nation Industries.

Dana Hertneky, television news reporter and anchor, will be the conference emcee.
