The Bachelor of Arts in Film helps students recognize, understand and produce effective storytelling for the screen. You can also combine the study of film with a variety of majors and minors like Theatre, Creative Writing, Animation and others.
The television and film industries are booming in ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ thanks to economic incentives for producers and rapid growth of local studio facilities. BA Film graduates can start their professional careers right here in ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ with companies like Paramount+, AppleTV, FX Network and others bringing projects to the state.
Upper-Level Film Culture - Choose one
*Students enrolled in both the BA in Film and the BA in Theatre may select to complete a Film capstone or a Theatre capstone project. If they choose to complete the Theatre capstone project, they will complete the B.A. in Film requirements with 38 credit hours in the major.
Students interested in Film can easily transfer their academic credits to ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ City University! ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ City Community College (OCCC) students should review the below articulation agreement to determine which courses are needed for the Film degree.
Film Talent scholarship: You may submit a short sample of digital film work for Talent Scholarship consideration. The reel should be no longer than five minutes and can include one short film or samples from a variety of projects. All Film students are encouraged to seek internships. Some recent students have worked with Prairie Surf Media, Green Pastures Studio, the ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ Film + Music Office, Osiyo TV (Cherokee Nation productions), and a variety of films and tv shows filmed in the state.
