FYE: First Year Experience

Transition. Connect. Engage.

Congratulations on your admission to ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ City University!

During your first year in college, you'll face many challenges. The First-Year Experience (FYE) program at OCU is designed to give you the skills to be successful in an academic community both inside and outside the classroom.

The first year at OCU begins with Stars Week! During the year you will be invited to many of our other FYE Programs and we hope you join us for them! We want to be a resource to all new students to help you succeed at ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ City University.

FYE's Mission

In support of ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ City University’s mission to pursue academic excellence and dedication to student success, the First-Year Experience Program facilitates the successful academic and co-curricular transition of new undergraduate students into the ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ City University community.

We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and fun experience focused on acclimating you to our campus community both inside and outside the classroom. We support first-year students through orientation programs providing opportunities for engagement across campus and connecting students to resources to promote retention, academic and personal growth. This is especially relevant for first-generation college students, as they may be the first in their family to experience the adjustment to college life and academics.
