ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ Panhellenic Council

OCU Sorority Bid Day

When you join a sorority at OCU, you also join the largest student organization on our campus, the OCU Panhellenic Council! The Panhellenic Council is the umbrella organization for all four (4) Panhellenic sororities on our campus and allows organizations to join forces to improve our community. The Panhellenic Council embraces the common core values within Greek Life: Sisterhood, Scholarship, Leadership, and Sisterhood. Together we plan campus and community service events, facilitate formal recruitment, and work together to promote sisterhood beyond chapter lines. The council is composed of four (4) executive officers, four (4) delegates, and four (4) junior delegates.

Panhellenic Creed

We, as Undergraduate Members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ. We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.

Sisterhood

Being in a sorority is about making friendships that will last far beyond your college years. Your sorority sisters are there to welcome you and guide you through your college experience. Your sorority will help you grow as an individual, leader, and philanthropist. Joining a sorority will give you support, a home at college, and memories you can treasure forever.

Scholarship

Above all else, your reason for attending college is academics. Therefore, scholarship is very important, and each sorority at OCU has a required grade point average to join. Each chapter also equips new members with study hours, test files, and help from older sisters – all which will help you manage your time, prepare for exams, and, most importantly, excel academically.

Leadership

Sorority life offers many opportunities to become leaders in your own chapter as well as on campus. Officer positions within each sorority enable you to assume responsibilities in areas that interest you and in which you excel. Chapter members also get involved in other campus organizations, service groups, and student government. Involvement in various organizations and ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ provides a well-rounded college experience and prepares you for life after OCU.

Service

While sisterhood, scholarship, and leadership are important to OCU’s Greek women, sorority life here also is about giving back to the community. Sororities donate time to service organizations such as Relay for Life, Ovarian Cancer Awareness, Building Strong Girls, Women's Heart Health, Boy's and Girl's Club, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and Victims of Domestic Violence. Service not only helps ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵns in need but is a personal investment that extends beyond your time in college.
