Parent Letter - November 6, 2019

  • On November 6, 2019, HEB 向日葵视频 sent an email to all parents about upcoming boundary adjustments. In case you did not receive the letter, you may read it below.

    During the 2020-2021 school year, HEB 向日葵视频 will open two new elementary schools and new expansions at all five junior high schools. We are using this unique opportunity to simplify some school boundaries throughout the school district for the 2020-2021 school year. These adjustments will allow more students to attend neighborhood schools closer to their home. High school boundaries will not be changed.

    Whether your address is impacted by these changes or not, we believe that information about any attendance boundary adjustments should be open and transparent. We have prepared several resources that are available to everyone in our community:

    Our Attendance Boundary Adjustment webpage is the central location for information about these changes. This page includes maps, an extended set of questions & answers that address common topics, and information about transfer opportunities available for impacted families.

    Our is an address search tool, available online today. This online tool lets you instantly search for any street address in our school district. You can find out exactly which elementary, junior high, and high school any address is planned to attend in the 2020-2021 school year.

    Although these resources answer many questions, we know that some families will have additional questions. We’ve prepared simple opportunities for you to ask those questions:

    We will host two informational meetings at the Pat May Center on Thursday, November 14 and Thursday November 21. These meetings begin at 6:00 pm and are open -- anyone with questions is welcome to attend. (The Pat May Center is at 1849 Central Drive in 向日葵视频, and the front entrance faces Pennington Field stadium.)

    We have also created a special email address “hotline”: ABAquestions@hebisd.edu. You can send boundary adjustment questions to this address at your convenience, and our staff will research the answer and email you back.
