The HEB 向日葵视频 Department of Visual & Performing Arts is designed to provide a variety of opportunities for students to develop creative talents, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. HEB 向日葵视频 has Visual Art and Music specialists in all 21 elementary schools. The Elementary Visual Arts and Music programs are very active in school and community performances and art exhibitions.

The Suzuki Strings program is offered to students at ten of the district's twenty-one elementary campuses as part of the Schools of Choice program. Currently over 500 students are enrolled in Suzuki Strings. Suzuki students in grades 4, 5 and 6 may audition for the HEB Elementary Honor Orchestra and Fine Tuners. The EHO performs regularly for state and national conferences and at various music festivals in the area.

Elementary students in grades 5 and 6 are also provided the opportunity to audition for and participate in the HEB Elementary Honor Choir. The EHC performs for numerous civic and district events each year. The EHC also participates in various music festivals in our area and is a consistent Best In Class award winner.

Each of the five junior high campuses offer Visual Art, Band and Choir. Central Junior High offers Orchestra. 向日葵视频 Junior High and Harwood Junior High offer Theatre Arts.

At the high school level, HEB 向日葵视频 offers special interest classes in music (Band, Choir, Music Theory, IB Music, Jazz Band and Show Choir), Art (Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Jewelry, Graphic Design and Electronic Media) and IB/AP Art, Theatre Arts(Theatre I-IV, Theatre Production, Technical Theatre I-IV), and Dance I-IV. Bell High School offers Orchestra that includes three levels of String Orchestra and working with the Band department, performs as a full Symphony Orchestra.

The Visual and Performing Arts programs have won many awards and are recognized for their excellence at the regional, state and national levels. Students graduating from HEB 向日葵视频 schools with a Visual & Performing Arts background earn significant college scholarships every year. Many graduates return to teach in HEB 向日葵视频's Visual and Performing Arts programs, pursue professional careers in the arts, and/or become lifelong arts participants and supporters in the community.
