Our calendar committee has put forward two calendar options for the 2024-2025 school year. These options comply with applicable laws (for example, how much instructional time students must receive each year) and aim to respect the most common requests our community and staff have shared with us recently and in past years.

The calendar options are similar: both have the first day of school for students on Monday, August 12, 2024 and last day of school on May 22, 2025. This allows us to split the fall and spring semesters with winter break. Both calendar options have similar holidays throughout the school year. This includes an entire week off of school for Thanksgiving and Spring Break, and no school April 18 through April 21 (Easter Weekend). Graduation dates are determined years in advance due to the district’s contract with the graduation facility.

The difference between the calendars is which day will mark the end of the second six weeks:

Calendar Option 1 has no school for students on November 1, 2024 (the day after Halloween). October 30 would be early dismissal for high school only, and October 31 would be early dismissal for all students. .  

Calendar Option 2 has no school for students on November 5, 2024 (Election Day). October 31 would be early dismissal for high school only, and November 1 would be early dismissal for all students. .
